DRAFT Plans: Sat. April 4, 2026: 58th Commemoration of the MLK Assassination

(narra directory)
From the 1963 Dream to 2026 Visionary Practice
Into America’s Promissory, Promised Land

NARRATIVE

“A dream deeply rooted in the American Dream.”
“I dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed:
‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’

…that day when all of God’s children—Black men and white men, Protestants and Catholics, Jews and Gentiles—will be able to join hands as brothers and sisters.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 1963

“All we ask of white people is that you live up to the laws that you yourselves wrote about us.”

“I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain.
And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the Promised Land.
I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonightthat
we, as a people, will get to the Promised Land.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., April 3, 1968

The Scriptures frame this vision not as rhetoric, but as divine mandate:

“Let judgment run down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.” — Amos 5:24
“To order and establish it upon the throne of David, with judgment and with justice.” — Isaiah 9:7
“Justice and judgment are the habitation of Your throne.” — Psalm 89:14

We, the People of the United States—federated citizens, American Africans of Los Angeles—are convening a ceremony and testimonial tribute in remembrance of the young prophet assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was slain for striving to be a drum major for Justice, Peace (Shalom), and Righteousness, as required by the Torah, the Tanakh, and the Holy Scriptures.

The year 2026 is unprecedented: the 250th Anniversary of the July 2–4, 1776 birth of the United States of America in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love. In this same year, Saturday/Shabbat, April 4, 2026, marks the 58th Commemoration of Dr. King’s assassination.

As such, more than ever before—and perhaps more than will ever come again—this moment represents the optimum and narrowing window for actual freedom to be realized by We, the People. Failure to overcome now risks darker days for the generations that follow.

More than sixty-three years ago, the young prophet declared that 1963 was not an end, but a beginning. Today, that declaration stands fulfilled in potential: we now possess the necessary assets—people, technology, moral awareness, global sentiment, and resources. The world itself cried out, “Black Lives Matter.”

The remaining question is not whether the Promised Land exists—but whether we will finally walk into it together, turning Dream into disciplined practice, Vision into national obedience, and Promise into reality.
