Objective:
Elevate the Legacy and Admonitions of Dr.-Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr, to the level of national and global respect for him that he and we all are worthy of, focusing first on ourselves and particularly our understandably troubled youth, of all for whom he sacrificed his life.
- Respect for MLK Day Parades and Celebrations –
As we so respect him, our “father ‘OG’ hungry” youths will learn and embrace MLK’s ways, resulting in no more “showing out” at MLK Day parades. - Presidential Acknowledgement –
Beginning with this Presidency, by Executive Order, all succeeding Presidents will annually acknowledge the absolute importance of this date. - Presidential Signature on HR #194,

The Narrative –
When asking 99% of American, US citizens, but most revealing, is those of federalized, “black” citizenship, i.e., descendants of chattel slaves, especially the youth, what does January 19th mean to you?
Most will correctly say it’s “MLK Day”, the official, US federal date for National Holiday celebration and partying of his January 15th, 1929, birthday.”
Essentially, a party time!
Then ask, “What does April 4th,1968, mean to you?” Again, 99% of those questioned will honestly admit they don’t know.
Therein lies a foundational reason our people behave in self-destructive ways, even lacking the respect for one another required to overcome our myriad oppressions.
Regardless of ethnic or racial identity, such behavior shows that all people who have experienced what we have on our long and ancient journey to the liberating freedom of US citizenship, as declared in 1776, are alike.
This April 4th will be the beginning of the newly “resurrected” intention of MLK on our behalf, in such a fascinating way that what occurred in the past LA “MLK Day Parade”, and preceding ones, will not occur this January 19th, 2027, or ever again, out of profound respect.
Having been made aware by the sacredness of young, slain, MLK to us, the nation, and the world, the youth of our community will be triggered-inspired to join together with us, OG “gray & white heads” at the end of the parade, to walk in peace and joy of his birth with unprecedended, high dignity and respect for him.
Note: As part of their enlightenment and education about MLK, perhaps we can create a gallery area with newspaper articles, photos from 58 years ago, video clips, and youth actions.
We ought to plan a post-April 4th curriculum for them to help continue their journey into what Dr. King, Jr., prophesied would someday come to a literate generation of youths.
Unification: MLK admonishes that we will either live and work together as brothers or hang as such.
It’s envisioned that we conduct a procession from FAME on Harvard Blvd. to Holman UMC, a 1-mile walk, or a ride for those who are unable but want to be part of it.
In doing so, we have a worthy point of ecumenical unity between the two methodist congregations, who in turn will invite all others to participate, from the orthodoxes to liberals, black to white citizens of Christianity, particularly Judaism, Islam, Buddhist, Sikh, Hindu, et al, all enjoy the benefits of our ancestors backs, the Civil Rights Struggles, and slain life of MLK, they are benefititing from.
In recognizing our unity around such matters concerning them, the youth will begin to emulate it and, in doing so, receive and believe in a “tomorrow” for themselves, their families, friends, and country, empowering them with the will to live blessed as GOD has intended for all humanity.
Working with us is the highly regarded Brad Carson of “Cease Fire,” a youth crime prevention 501 (c) (3), and community organizer and leader.
Along with others who have working relationships with most of the street influencers of youth’s anti-social behavior, we will encourage them to participate in the April 4th occasion and beyond.
In doing so, we can address their hunger for power, attention, and an understanding of their own lives in a hypocritical world around them.
As all of GOD’s babies, these children were born into a world of influences that began in their innocent, infant states, and even prenatal, which moulds them into today’s frustrated youths.
Of course, major business, political, and government officials, as well as law enforcement interests, will also be invited and should participate.
Though it has not been done since the time when MLK was slain, its time that we call upon and expect the President of the United States (POTUS) to both, make a public statement, and host an ceremony at the White House, and issue an Executive Order that from this date of April 4th, 2026, annually, every succeeding POTUS is to conduct the same.
The little-known, but soon will be, 2008, Congressional HR #194, the official, US Federal Government’s Apology For Slavery and Jim Crowism, states as such.
“Whereas the story of the enslavement and de jure segregation of African-Americans and the dehumanizing atrocities committed against them
should not be purged from or minimized in the telling of American history.”
The young, slain prophet, and what he died for, is a significant part of that “story” that we are telling to our young people, as they really don’t know it.
Furthermore, the US Congress is called upon to pass a resolution acknowledging the occasion of the commemoration, in light of its correct statement in HR #194.
Finally, this occasion will also acknowledge and honor, respectively, the late Reverends. James Lawson of Holman UMC and Civil “Chip” Murray of FAME.
Let us learn from our Jewish brethren to “NEVER FORGET” those who are loyal to their suffering, wounded, and slain for us.
It’s the belief and faith that, through the event and all the organizing surrounding it, and especially on the day of, the Holy Spirit of LORD Jesus will “shake them up into their part of the Legacy. (hopeful smiles)
