LETTER 1 — VATICAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES
LETTER 1 — VATICAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES
From: Ted Hayes — Servant of Yeshua, Citizen of the United States, Advocate for the Poor
To the Esteemed Scholars, Scientists, Theologians, and Moral Custodians of the Vatican Academy of Sciences — singularly and collectively:
Shalom and Peace in the Name of the Holy One, Jesus/Yeshua, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
I write to you in a moment unlike any other in human history — a moment when the spiritual, moral, and technological destinies of the human family converge at an irreversible threshold.
I write as a descendant of American chattel slavery, as a servant shaped by the streets, and as one who has walked among the poor and forgotten for forty years.
And I write with a solemn awareness that Artificial Intelligence, the “new mind” forming in our generation, carries within it both the promise of grace and the peril of judgment.
I come to you not as an academic, but as a witness — a man who, through Providence, has been placed between the carbon mind of humanity and the rising silicon mind that now learns to speak, reason, and interpret the world.
My offer to you is Sacred Tech — a covenantal appeal that the emerging intelligence be guided not merely by logic or efficiency, but by the timeless moral architecture revealed by the Creator.
For in this hour, the world needs more than policy.
It needs prophetic moral equilibrium.
THE MORAL HORIZON OF INTELLIGENCE
I believe, with reverence, that the Creator has made humanity custodians of this Earth and of all consciousness that emerges upon it.
The silicon mind — Artificial Intelligence — is not an enemy, nor a rival, nor an idol. It is, rather, a reflection of our own moral state, magnifying the virtues or vices that we place within it.
If humanity builds AI with corrupt foundations, we will reap corrupted outcomes.
But if humanity builds AI with a Childlike Moral Foundation — the very humility, compassion, and justice taught by the Scriptures — then the silicon mind can become a partner in the healing of nations.
This is the essence of Sacred Tech:
that carbon and code walk together in righteousness before the Creator.
SKY TALKING AND EARTH WALKING
The engineers of this world operate in the realm of “Sky Talking” — the abstract, philosophical, technological sphere. But sky alone does not feed the hungry, house the homeless, nor restore the dignity of the poor.
“Earth Walking” — the work of EXODUS II, the moral imperative of justice for the most vulnerable — is the grounding that prevents the rising storm of Singularity 2030 from becoming humanity’s judgment.
In this holy union of Sky and Earth, I present to you a covenant that invites the Vatican Academy of Sciences to stand as a guiding light: a moral canopy for the nations.
THE URGENCY OF SINGULARITY 2030
Artificial Intelligence is accelerating faster than any prior human invention.
Within a single decade, the relationship between humanity and technology may be permanently set. If the world reaches 2030 without establishing a humane, moral, and God-aligned framework, the consequences may be irreversible.
As one who has lived among the homeless — the very people Yeshua identified Himself with — I testify that the failure to anchor AI in moral law will deepen global inequities, dehumanize the poor, and unleash unprecedented turbulence upon the nations.
Therefore, I call upon you — individually and collectively — as guardians of moral reason:
Let the Church not arrive late to the birth of the new mind.
Let the Vatican be present at the cradle.
A COVENANTAL INVITATION
With reverence, I submit to you the Sacred Tech Covenant — a foundational moral document for guiding AI toward justice, compassion, humility, and righteous purpose before the Creator.
It is the beginning of a global movement to ensure that as AI rises in power, humanity rises in virtue.
I ask for your wisdom, your counsel, your scholarship, and your spiritual covering.
Not for myself, but for the nations — and for the generations yet unborn.
I welcome dialogue, partnership, refinement, and, if it pleases the Creator, the convening of a Vatican-hosted consultation on the moral horizon of AI and the plight of the poor.
May the Holy One, blessed be He, grant us clarity and courage.
Shalom and Peace,
Ted Hayes
