The 40 Years Saga of Ted Hayes: Generation of Homelessness Activism

  • Case Model: The Dome Village
  • “Thinking globally, acting locally”

Believing what he heard from the Written Word of GOD (The Holy Bible), in faithful obedience,
…Ted Hayes, a latter 1960s Civil Rights activist, did the “unthinkable”, and voluntarily dwelt in Skid Row,
…the “ground 0 – black hole vortex” of LA homelessness.

Similar to his spiritual, social, civic, and political activist mentors, such as Sid Hartha, the Buddha,
…Abraham Lincoln; Mahatma Gandhi; Malcolm X, El Hajj Shabaz; Martin Luther King, Jr.,
…and Clarence Davis, most importantly, Yehusha Ha Mashiach- Jesus Christ.

…all who willingly became homeless or societally “untouchable”, in his innocent zeal,
…for the following reasons, Ted dared to do so as well:

    1. To feel, taste, i.e., experience homelessness on that level, so that if, when someday he would speak
…on the matter to the world, it would be from the gravitas of his heart experiences, thereby being
      …convincing;
    2. To seek the causes of homelessness, discover them, and then design and implement resolutions and remedies.

What the spiritually inspired activist thought would be approximately a few weeks of experiential research,
…turned into eight long years on city sidewalks, etc., followed by another 13 years dwelling with homeless persons
…in the Dome Village, which he and his colleagues, against the odds, by The Grace of GOD, successfully created.

This activism ignited the “wildfire” of the tiny home business for the homeless, for both the homeless and those
…seeking a smaller, economically smart, carbon footprint by living powerfully with a compact little.

Initially, with private funds, from November 1994 to November 2007, Dome Village was funded by HUD
to design a first step, a model for implementing the Strategic National Homeless Resolution Plan.

The Justiceville Plan, EXODUS II: 2028, LA Olympics, Homeless Resolution Plan is interestingly similar
…to that of the Hon. President Donald J. Trump.

The President’s obligation to the 14th Amendment, the 1866 Civil Rights Act,
…the National Birth and Identity certificate, solely for US federal citizens. i.e., “black”,
…the descendants of America’s US military-liberated chattel slaves, will gladly cooperate
as it is more in his interest.

Such a leadership role of Ted is based on the reality of his being the longest-serving and most experienced in
…homelessness resolution activism:

He leads in countless efforts of record-setting lobbying, demonstrating, and protesting, and even civil disobedience
…of government (municipal, county, state, and the three federal branches, including law enforcement and military);
…Justiceville public displays of resolutions; initiating adoptable, successful programs.

All of these efforts significantly raised the general awareness of homelessness, and even caused billions of dollars
…of private, as well as public funds and allocations; devised the only national and global plan in the USA
…that will humanely resolve homelessness
, et al., as well as his ever-increasing efforts to do so;
…the conscientious intervention of Ted Hayes has earned him the moniker of being the “OG”, first
foremost national and global homeless activist.

The Validation of The Dome Village
Thinking globally, acting locally, Ted and the Justiceville activists and their allies created the Dome Village,
…the most innovative approach to end homelessness in US history.

The Strong Allies Were:
Craig Chamberlain (the late)
US Military, Vietnam combat Veteran, and ardent disciple-student and personal friend of the late R. Buckminster Fuller,
…created the OmniSpheres for the Dome Village, with his great and legendary mentor’s endorsement.

Dale Zuehls, CPA, Zuehls & Lagaspi, & Co., Attorney, prominent benefactor in disaster-related assistance
…entities of Los Angeles, of

Mr. Lod Cook (the late),
The President and Chairperson of the Board of the Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) contributed $250,000
…to initiate Dome Village.

At the November 3, 1993, opening ceremony of Dome Village, Mr. Cook stated that it was/remains
“The most innovative concept addressing homelessness in at least 50 years.”

Mr. David Adams, a wealthy property owner, met with and immediately became Ted’s business credibility partner,
…and initially financed into the thousands of dollars, the building of Dome Village.

LA Mayor Richard Riordan (the late) led the city’s Planning Department, with the most stringent
…building and safety codes in the world, to designate the omni-spheres as legal, temporary, transitional structures.

Today, the city and county of Los Angeles have within their treasury, circa two billion dollars, granted by
…voter ballot measures, don’t know how to utilize the funds effectively as the crisis worsens.

Primarily funded by HUD’s “Continuum of Care -Breaking the Cycle of Homelessness” initiative for funding,
…of all the social service receiving funding from LAHSA, Dome Village was sanctioned as comparatively
…the most productive, financially inexpensive facility.

Most importantly, as it was the central portion of the Proposal for HUD funding, Dome Villages’  “Crown Jewel”
…was its gestation within the Justiceville, strategic, Presidential Executive Order, national plan, which
…breaks the cycle of homelessness as the Continuum of Care demands.

Whether the Justiceville strategy works or not, we’re yet to find out, and it is the only such plan among the LAHSA fund
…recipients, as evidenced by what is now occurring.

To verify, please have your staff research HUD-LAHSA funding to Justiceville-Dome Village, 1993-2007.

Though nearly 33 years ago, via his unique experience, Ted stated first, the causation of the matter, and offered
……a reasonable solution, including warning the government, etc., of the future consequences if not heeded,
will result in the present-day “explosion” of homelessness, as he predicted, has stunningly come to pass.

Over 4 decades, the government has tried everything innovative, and utterly failed, as evidenced by
…sidewalks encampments, and RV-villes, etc., including the subsequent, present revelations of social services’
…financial corruption of  NGO’s such as LAHSA.

It’s in everyone’s interest that The Plan be soon acted.
