LA City Resolution: The Hon. City Council Member, Rita Walters

On October 8, 1998, the boldly courageous Los Angeles City Councilmember
…the Hon. Rita Walters led the Council to vote for the prophetic unanimously,
…revolutionary way to summon the President of the United States (POTUS),
…to issue a Presidential Executive Order to implement a Strategic National Homeless Plan,
…akin to the post-World War II “Marshall Plan” for rebuilding war-torn Europe.

Hence, the DOMESTIC Marshall Plan!
This is only reasonable!

The leadership of Council Member Walters inspired LA County, Board of Supervisor, the Hon. Yvonne Braithwaite Burke,
…to lead her Board of which she Chaired, to also, as the City, enact a similar Resolution, including a letter to the then POTUS,
…the Hon. William “Bill” J. Clinton, the US Congress, and LAHSA, et al.

Of these two honorable ladies, we are grateful and salute their legacy in this most critical Domestic matter.
