The New, But Powerful, and “Traditional” Homeless Melded Into One Mutually Benefiting Body Politic
As of this date, 40 years ago, as a veteran activist of the late 1960s, Civil Rights-Black Power Movements,
…intentionally, by GOD’s Grace, I dwelled on sidewalks with men and women, predominantly black citizens
…on Skid Row, Central City East, downtown LA, in meteoric, media blitch, my aggressive activism
…brought unprecedented attention to homelessness.
That attention resulted in my being able to advocate on behalf of my fellows as well as espouse a series of
…practical and doable, humane resolutions to homelessness, of which is government-documented.
Due to a generation of this matter, one can imagine the volumes of details which is impossible to pen,
…therefore, I hope that this is only the first, in a series of editorials on this matter.
This sudden, mass devastation in Los Angeles County has added tens of thousands of people to the
…existing, circa 75,000 “traditional” homeless persons, astronomically complicating homelessness,
…as it will take years to securely resettle the “new” homeless…somewhere else.
This crisis of crisis demands doable, schedule-time-driven, effective engineering, that comprehensively
…benefits the traditional and new homeless persons, who now are one people.
Naturally, each can not empathize “I know how you feel”, with the other’s experiences, however,
…they certainly can sympathize, allowing their respective plights to be mutually prioritized.
“Do to what you would have them do to you.” (Jesus/Yeshua)
This mutual inclusiveness as one people also raises interesting dynamics in which the assets of each,
…rounds out the other, both equally and equitably benefitted. “What is put in, is what is put out”, i.e.,
…receprosity.
Question #I is: “Where is such a visionary hopeful, revolutionary in thought plan?”
In my 40th year of walking journey, on the “desk” of every Presidential Administration from Bush #41,
…through that of Clinton #42, Bush #43, Obama #44, particularly Trump #45 and Biden #46, is the Justiville
…National Homeless Plan, presently dubbed, EXODUS II: 2028, LA Olympics Homeless Initiative.
During this time 40 years ago (one generation), within the first political (non-partisan) encampment dubbed
…”Justiceville”, which is the foundational movement of present-day homeless encampments, certain things
…were predicted to occur concerning the direction of homelessness in LA. and subsequently the nation.
It was stated then, that if the authorities, local to federal, including the private sector refuse to implement
…the Plan, orchestrated by the President of the United States (POTUS) as a National Security matter,
…the Skid Row downtown, would eventually multiply into mini-“Skid Rows” throughout LA communities
…and neighborhoods.
The 40 years (1985-2025) of benign neglect of The Plan, the situation has become far worse, causing billions
…of tax dollars to be spent to no avail, as thousands of US citizens were unnecessarily killed by homelessness,
…yet, while social service providers, et al, became wealthy, and partisan political activists were empowered
…to propagate a destructive narrative about it…i.e., the lucrative, Homelessness Industrial Complex (HIC.
For 40 years, due to the propagation of this destructive narrative, the general public has misunderstood
…of homeless people, reasoning that they were bums; down on their luck; mentally ill; drug and alcohol addicts;
…criminals, lazy dropouts; etc., and therefore, of no consequence to society.
Due to this sudden, whirlwind fire disaster, LA and the nation are now confronted with an even more complex
…homelessness crisis by this addition of thousands of new homeless persons.
The best matter to come out of this disaster is that it will stimulate the re-imagining of homelessness
…because now, people of wealth are forced to daily think about it and seek some humane relief
…from their new, unexpected state of being homeless.
The Moral Dilemma Question II: Which Diaster of Homelessness Is Worse?
Which homeless population will the government and society help first, the “traditional”, who have already
…lost everything due to the disaster of our society’s economy, politics, etc.,
…or the new, wealthy, powerfully influential homeless?
Remember, Governor Newsom and LA City, et al, for decades had already declared homelessness an emergency
…clearly to avail.
Furthermore, this disaster will surely and rightly cause robust, and highly contested debate in the State and National Legislature.
Therefore, I am offering to voluntarily consult these entities, and with a “win-win-win” (nobody loses and is the “bad guy”)
…resolution. that uniquely unites the wealthy and poor, ie., into a mutually symbiotic relationship objective.
